From Sucevita to Moldovita

The 20 km route from Sucevita to Vatra Moldovitei can be covered by foot in about five hours. Most likely you'll follow the road between the two villages, offering amazing views unpon the hillocks of Bukovina (obcine), some of the most interesting landscapes in the country.
Ciumarna pass is a good spot to get a panoramic view of the magificent landscape. There's a hand-shaped statue there.
Vatra Moldovitei is one of the most beautifully located villages in Bukovina. The traditions in the region are well-preserved, so, among others, don't miss the egg painting handicraft especially during the Holy Week.
The nuns at the Moldovita monastery will be glad to be your guide. Smaller but not less impressive than Sucevita, Moldovita monastery is a masterpiece of Gothic art tailored to the local style. The frescoes are superb. Don't miss the Siege of Constantinople on the south wall or the Last Judgement at the porch.
The accommodation in agro-touristic pensions is plentiful. You can spend several days there and explore the beautiful surroundings.
